The 360 Degree Twitter Me
What’s the point of multiple Twitter accounts?
When I jumped into the Twitter stream in July of 2009, I was told that it’s a best practice to use one’s real name and to be a 360 degree person. Made sense – especially since I had just challenged myself to become more transparent. So I literally put myself out there…revealing aspects of the playful kid with warts who asks too many questions as well as the professional aspects of the 360 degree me.
By August of 2010 (with nearly 6,000 followers) I realized that not only was I missing tweets and becoming unresponsive, but my diverse interests were confusing (if not annoying) to those who may only interested in one of the 360 degree aspects…
so, the whole me is now three:
1 – @Self_Leadership: (my hobby)
- leading yourself and others to live and work more authentically and effectively. Note the underscore: Self_Leadership – not using it takes you to a guy in Singapore.
2 – @EmpHigher: (my business)
- creating corporate change and personal growth: training, leadership, healthcare/pharmaceutical news, consulting, speaking.
3 – @JeanneMale: (my essence)
Life-streaming and conversation. Enjoying yoga and wine…but not simultaneously!
What’s my JobLife Architect Story?
It has become clear that I can’t help others to become JobLife Architects without sharing some of my journey. It requires more transparency than most professionals are comfortable sharing in a public forum, so I’m still wrestling with this alligator.
To embolden myself, I set a stretch goal to live and work with “audacious authenticity” and have taken a deep breath before hitting the “publish” button on a numer fo posts. With your support, I’m sure to find my truly authentic voice and I would be honored if you would be my “front-stabber” and let me know how I’m doing.
Thanks for stopping by and reading
please join me in learning, growing and leading!
